We're in the thick of financial aid "season" for our Class of 2024 clients, and the confusion and stress is snowballing.
Over the weekend, the good folks behind the CSS Profile financial aid application did us all the courtesy of blasting out an email that noted that "your CSS Profile application is incomplete." The email went to everybody registered for this service, including those who already completed and submitted a CSS Profile. Helpful.
But these cortisol-raising bits of "fake financial aid news" are par for the course. And sadly, just the tip of the iceberg of mistakes and problems you need to avoid if you're looking for financial aid or scholarships to help you pay tuition for your kiddo(s).
That's why we're running a brand new webinar this Wednesday night, "Financial Aid Loopholes and Landmines." On this live class, you will discover:
- Four legal and ethical "loopholes" on the FAFSA (the financial aid application required by all colleges), hiding in plain sight, that could save you a few thousand smackers...per year
- 10 deadly, money-losing, financial aid eligibility-robbing "landmines" lurking in the financial aid process, that you must avoid like an invite to a George Santos fundraiser
- FAFSA changes: look out! Here's what you need to know before the FAFSA comes out New Year's Eve
- More, including your questions. We'll be running a live chat.
There's no charge for the webinar and we are not selling anything. Please share this invitation with everyone you know who needs this info, they will definitely NOT hear it at their high school's "college night."

P.S. I've cut back doing free consultations but I can offer you something better:
A 45 minute meeting, in-person or Zoom, after which I deliver a written, easy-to-read Competitive Analysis and Positioning (CAP) Report that -- objectively -- tells you how your child "stacks up" to his or her competition, your odds of getting scholarships or other financial aid and answers all of your questions.
It also covers specific recommendations for your student, and for you re: financial aid and merit aid, strategies to optimize your child's odds of admission and more.
Warning: this is an honest, objective and blunt evaluation of where you stand. Don't do it if you or your child is fragile and needs everything to be sugar coated.
Here's the page that describes it all:
